본 연구는 생성형 인공지능(Generative AI)이 무용 창작에 미치는 예술적·기술적영향을 탐색하고, 안무 창작 과정에서의 협업 가능성을 실험하였다. AI 안무 프로그램 ‘리빙 아카이브’를 활용한 창작 발레 작업을 통해, AI가 움직임 제안과 상상력자극을 통해 창작을 확장하는 도구이자 안무가의 조력자로 기능할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 창작자는 AI의 다양한 제안을 통해 고정된 사고에서 벗어나 새로운 표현 가능성을 발견할 수 있었으며, 이는 창작 과정의 심리적 장벽을 낮추는 데에도 기여하였다. 그러나 감정, 호흡, 공간성, 움직임 속도, 근육의 섬세한 표현과 같은 요소를 충분히 반영하기에는 기술적 한계가 존재하였다. 본 연구는 AI와 예술 창작 간의 협업 가능성을 제시하며, 미래 예술 생태계의 확장 방향을 모색한다.
Abstract
This study explores the artistic and technological impact of Generative AI on dance creation and experiments with the potential for collaboration in the choreographic process. Through the creation of a ballet work using the AI choreography program Living Archive, it was confirmed that AI can function as both a tool for expanding creative possibilities and a col- laborator that stimulates imagination by suggesting movements. The choreographer was able to break away from fixed patterns of thinking and discover new expressive possibilities through various AI-generated suggestions, which also helped to lower psychological barriers during the creative process. However, there remain technological limitations in ad- equately reflecting elements such as emotion, breath, spatial awareness, movement speed, and the subtle expression of muscle engagement. This research presents the potential for collaboration between AI and artistic creation and seeks to explore future directions for the expansion of the artistic ecosystem.
