This paper explores the ambivalent roles of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the realm of creativity, particularly focusing on Generative AI and its impact on dance choreography. It illustrates how AI is reshaping tra- ditional approaches to choreography, formerly driven solely by human aesthetic sensibilities and physical awareness, by democratizing the gen- eration of movement vocabulary through AI technologies. Additionally, the paper critically assesses the potential and constraints of AI in the context of dance, prompting a reflection on whether AI-generated move- ments and choreographic compositions can be considered 'creative' or merely technological reference for the human creativity.
