중국의 대만에 대한 위협은 매우 증가하고 있다. 특히 2022년 이후, 대만에 대한 봉쇄훈련은 점점 강화되고 있으며, 동북아 안보에 위기를 초래할 수 있다. 대만에 대한 중국의 군사행동과 한국에 대한 중국의 행동에 유사점이 있는 측면에서, 대만이 중국의 군사행동에 어떻게 대응하는가를 분석하는 것은 한국에게 중요한 참조점이 될 수 있다. 따라서 이 연구를 통해 한국이 어떻게 준비하고 대응방안을 마련할 것인가에 대한 교훈과 함의를 확인할 수 있다. 이러한 문제제기를 바탕으로 이 연구의 목적은 현재의 대만해협 정세와 중국의 회색지대 전략을 분석할 것이다. 그리고 중국에 대한 대만의 군사력 평가를 분석하고, 이를 바탕으로 대만이 추구하는 군사전략인 비대칭 전략에 대해 대만공군의 전략개념(Concept)을 중심으로 분석하는 것이다.
Abstract
China’s threat to Taiwan has grown substantially. Since 2022 in particular, China has intensified its blockade-oriented exercises around Taiwan, creating conditions that could escalate into a broader security crisis in Northeast Asia. Because certain features of China’s military behavior toward Taiwan parallel its actions affecting South Korea, examining Taiwan’s responses to Chinese military pressure can provide valuable points of reference for South Korea. This study therefore aims to draw lessons and policy implications for how South Korea should strengthen its preparedness and develop effective response measures. Building on this problem statement, the study first analyzes the current security environment in the Taiwan Strait and the evolution of China’s gray-zone strategy. It then reviews assessments of Taiwan’s military capabilities relative to China. Finally, it examines Taiwan’s preferred military approach—its asymmetric strategy—by focusing on the strategic concept adopted by the Taiwan Air Force.
