학습연구년제 참여 교사들의 추수경험에 대한 종단적 사례연구

이 연구의 목적은 생애사적 관점에 기초한 종단적 사례연구를 통하여 3년 전 학습연구년제에 참여했던 현장 교사들의 추수경험과 그것의 의미를 탐구하는 데 있다. 이 연구의 결과를 간략하게 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학습연구년제 참여 교사들은 학교현장에 복귀하여 교사로서의 정체성과 역할, 학교교육과 교직문화에 대한 새로운 관점을 형성하였다. 그리고 학습연구년제는 초중등 교사들의 생애 궤적에서 하나의 전환점 혹은 결정적 사건으로 자리매김을 하였다. 둘째, 학습연구년제 참여 교사들은 무형식적인 교육활동에 기초하여 교수적 여유와 교육적 통찰을 획득함으로써 자기-주도적이고 전문적인 교사로서의 삶을 영위하였다. 또한, 초중등 전문교사인 그들은 일상적인 교수적 실천의 장에서 재충전을 위한 안식과 학습, 그리고 연구가 분리된 활동이 아님을 깨닫게 되었다. 특히, 그들은 안식을 통한 재충전을 통하여 모호한 교육적 효과를 기다릴 수 있는 여유를 갖게 되었다. 셋째, 다양한 경력 발달에서의 공통적인 특징은 경력 경로의 시간적 확대와 공간적 확장이었다. 또한, 참여 교사들은 개인적인 전문영역을 개발하고, 교수 전문성을 계발함으로써 교실수업 및 단위학교 교육의 개선, 그리고 인근학교와 지역사회의 교육 발전에 기여하였다. 또한, 경력 발달 및 교수 전문성과 관련한 추수경험에서의 주요한 특징은 교육성과의 가시성과 교육적 가능성이었다.
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to illuminate the follow-up experiences of teachers(N=6) who were on sabbatical year through a three year longitudinal case study, which is based on the life historic perspective. The specific results and conclusions are as follows. Firstly, the participating teachers have obtained new perspectives on the identity and role as a school teacher, schooling, and teaching culture during three years in their schools. The sabbatical year of teachers has became a turning point or pivotal point in their life trajectories. Secondly, the teachers who were on sabbatical year have managed self-directed and professional lives as a school teacher through rejuvenation and educational insight based on the informal education activities. Also, the participating teachers as education experts have realized that rest, learning, and research are not separate activities in their everyday lives. Specifically, they have obtained a capacity to wait an uncertain educational outcome. Thirdly, the common characteristics of various career developments of participating teachers was temporal extension and spatial expansion in their differential career paths. Also, they have contributed to the improvement of classroom lesson, school education, and education of school district and community by developing personal and professional domain, and teaching professionalism. The prominent characteristics of the follow-up experiences of participating teachers was visibility of educational effectiveness, and educational possibility of sabbatical year.
