한 초등학교 전문교사의 전문성 발달에 대한 예술기반 생애사 연구

초록

이 연구의 목적은 예술기반 생애사 연구방법을 통하여 한 초등학교 영화교육 전문교사의 전문성 발달과 그 의미를 해석적으로 탐구하는 데 있다. 특히, 이 연구는 한 초등학교 전문교사의 고유하고 개인적인 교수 전문성 발달이 한국의 사회문화적 맥락 및 조건과 어떻게 조응하는지를 해석적으로 논의하고자 한다. 이 연구는 Mandelbaum(1973)의 분석단위(차원, 전환점, 적응)로 타임라인을 구성하고, Lieblich, Tuval-Mashiach, & Zilber(1998)의 총체적 내용 접근으로 전문성 발달과 의미에 대한 코딩 및 범주화를 통하여 최종적으로 5개의 하위범주(➀ 초등 영화교육의 방법과 노하우, ➁ 초등 영화교육을 통한 대안적 전문성 추구, ➂ 초등학교 교사로서의 교수적 약점 노출하기, ➃ 조직적 전문성 해체하기, ➄ 6학년 교사로서의 교육적 한계 인정하기)와 2개의 핵심범주(➀ 초등학교 전문교사로서의 대안적 전문성 모색, ➁ 6학년 전문교사 되기)를 생성하였다. 이 연구는 인 비보 코딩(in vivo coding) 통하여 참여자의 생애담을 생동감 있게 재현하고, 분석적 및 해석적 글쓰기를 통하여 전문성 발달과 관련한 참여자의 생애담을 우리나라의 사회문화적 맥락 및 조건에 연결하였다. 또한, 이 연구는 기존의 조직적 전문성을 넘어서 개인적이고 직업적인 교수 전문성의 발달을 위한 몇 가지 아이디어를 제시하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 초등학교 전문교사의 전문성 발달과 의미에 대한 해석적 논의를 통하여 대안적인 전문성 개념을 재개념화 하는 데 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

Abstract

he aim of this paper is to interpretatively investigate professional development and its meaning of an elementary expert teacher in film education through art-based life history research. Specifically, this paper interpretatively reviewed indigenous and personal professionalism of an expert teacher in terms of sociocultural contexts and conditions in korea. This study constructed a timeline by analytic unit(dimension, turning point, adaptation) of Mandelbaum(1973), generated five sub-categories(➀ method and know-how for elementary film education, ➁ searching for alternative professionalism through elementary film education, ➂ disclosuring vulnerability as a teacher, ➃ deconstructing organizational professionalism, ➄ recognizing educational limit as six grade teacher) and two core categories(➀ searching for alternative professionalism as an expert teacher, ➁ becoming six grade expert teacher) through Lieblich, Tuval-Mashiach, & Zilber(1998)'s holistic content approach. This paper vividly represented participant's life story by in vivo coding, connected a life story with sociocultural contexts and conditions by analytic-interpretive writing. Also, this paper suggested several ideas for developing personal and occupational professionalism beyond organizational professionalism. The results of this paper will be a cornerstone to reconceptualize alternative professionalism of elementary school teacher through illuminating professional development and its meaning in korea.
