예술이 삶이 된 한 전직 중학교 미술교사의 전기성의 실현

이 연구는 20여년 가까이 교직생활을 하다가, 전직하여 한국 문화예술교육 정책 결정의 전반적인 분야에서 핵심적인 역할을 하게 된 한 중학교 미술교사의 경험을 탐색하였다. 질적연구방법론 중 생애사 연구를 이용하였으며, 연구참여자를 대상으로 심층 인터뷰를 수행하여 연구자료를 수집하였다. 연구참여자의 개인 생애사에서 나타난 교사의 직업의 전환 및 전문성의 발달과정과 더불어 2000년대 초반 시작된 한국 문화예술교육정책의 역사적 맥락을 전기학습, 경험학습적 틀에서 탐구하였다. 본 연구에서 도출된 생애사의 의미는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구참여자는‘제대로 된, 우리 아이들을 위한 철학과 깊이가 있는 미술교육’을 위해 성실하게 연구하는 것, 문화예술 정책에 관여하여 힘쓰고, 일하는 모든 과정이 날실과 씨실처럼 연결되어 전기성의 실현을 이루어 갔다. 둘째, 연구참여자의 생애사에는 한국의 문화예술교육 정책의 역사적 흐름이 녹아있다. 셋째, 연구참여자는 삶 속에서 끊임없는 선택을 하였다. 연구참여자는 자신의 삶의 주체로서 무수한 실존적인 선택을 통해 진정한 자신이 되어갔다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to explore the experience of a former middle school art teacher who had been teaching for about 20 years. After transferred from middle school teacher to Korea Arts and Culture Education Service and she played a key role in the overall field of decision making of Korean culture and arts education policy. Qualitative research methodology based on life history research and in-depth interviews was conducted. In addition to the development of professionalism and transition of professions in the personal life history of the research participant. The meanings of life history derived from this study are as follow; First, the research participant devoted herself to the realization of culture and arts education in Korea. Second, the historical flow of Korean art and culture education policy was integrated into the life history of the research participant. Third, the research participant has made continuous existential choices in her life. She became a true self through countless existential choices as the subject of her life.
