한국의 물류산업은 과거 10년간 급속하게 성장해 왔으며 대다수의 대기업 화주들은 계열 물류자회사 설립 및 물류기업의 M&A 등 물류시장 진출을 통해 내부 물류효율 및 규모의 경제를 실현해 오고 있다. 그러나 업계에서 최근 이러한 2자 물류시장의 성장이 한국 물류산업의 글로벌 경쟁력 약화 및 3자 물류시장의 잠식, 독과점 시장구조의 확대 등 한국 물류산업의 글로벌 경쟁력 약화시킨다는 우려의 시각이 나타나고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 한국물류산업의 시장구조분석을 통해 운수업 및 하위 업종별로 구분하여 과거 10년간 시장집중도를 분석하고 2자 물류와 3자 물류 형태에 따른 매출규모와 성장성의 차이를 분석하여 2자 물류시장의 증가 및 감소가 3자 물류시장의 매출 및 성장규모에 미치는 영향을 현실적으로 제시하였다. 분석결과 한국 물류산업의 시장구조는 低 집중도의 경쟁시장으로 빠르게 전환되고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 이원분산분석을 이용하여 과거 10년간 매출액규모와 성장규모를 중심으로 상위 30위권 내의 2자 물류와 3자 물류시장간 차이 검정을 실시한 결과, 2자 물류와 3자 물류시장은 각각의 매출액규모가 증가하였으나 성장규모의 차이는 있는 것으로 분석되었다.
Abstract
Logistics industry in Korea has rapidly grown past ten years. Multinational and major manufacturing and wholesale companies have strived to reduce logistics costs with concentrating on internal and external efficiency and effectiveness through supply chains. Some companies has made their own logistics companies, so-called second-party logistics companies (son companies) or through M&A in logistics industry. Some experts and researchers have worried that this trend might weaken the competitiveness of existing third-party logistics companies, eventually resulting in enlarging monopolistic and oligopolistic structure in logistics markets and weakening competitiveness of logistics companies, especially third-party logistics companies in Korea. We analyzed the market structure and concentration ratio in logistics industry of Korea based on recent ten-year data. Two hypotheses were suggested; 1) Sales and growth of the two logistics market in second-party logistics and third-party logistics were different, 2) Growth of second-party logistics affected and weakened third-party logistics market. The results of the study shows that the structure of logistics industry in Korea rapidly turned into a competitive market with low concentration ratio. The result of two-way analysis of variance among the top 30 logistics companies shows that second-party logistics market and third-party logistics market have grown respectively, but the growth rate between two markets are significantly different.
