물류산업과 화물자동차운송산업의 비용구조와 효율성 분석에 관한 연구

화물자동차운송산업은 물류산업에서 가장 많은 비중을 차지하는 분야로서, 비용구조와 효율성분석을 통해 두 산업을 비교하고자 한다. 물류산업에 대해서는 산업연관표 자료를 이용하였고, 화물자동차운송산업은 운수업조사보고서 자료를 활용하였다. 분석방법론은 비용함수를 이용하여 규모의 경제, 수요탄력성, 교차탄력성 등을 분석하였고, 확률적 프론티어 모형을 활용하여 상대적 비효율성을 파악하였다. 비용함수에서 물류산업은 규모의 경제가 있는 반면에 화물자동차운송산업은 규모의 경제가 없다고 나타났다. 또한 물류산업의 교차탄력성은 모두 대체재의 특성을 지니고 있으나 화물자동차운송산업은 일부에서 보완재 특성을 나타내 대조를 보이고 있다. 효율성 분석에 서는 물류산업의 경우 경쟁구조 심화에 따른 효율성 개선보다는 대내외 경제의 영향을 받아 비효율성이 증가하는 구조이나 화물자동차운송산업은 시장진입규제와 더불어 내수 중심의 시장구조로 효율성이 향상되는 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the cost structure and efficiency of the logistics and trucking industries of Korea. For this purpose, the basic data framework of the logistics sector was composed of input-output with micro-data from the freight sector. Analysis methodologies used the translog cost function and the stochastic frontier model. The former analyzes economies of scale, demand elasticity, and cross-elasticity, while the latter identifies the relative inefficiency. Economies of scale exist in the logistics industry but not in the trucking industry. In addition, the cross-elasticity of the logistics industry has substitution characteristics, but the trucking industry has complementary characteristics in some input items. In the efficiency analysis, the logistics industry is influenced by the international and domestic economy but the trucking industry is more efficient because of the domestic demand oriented market structure and regulatory aspects barring market entry.
