대학교육의 질 향상을 위한 좋은 강의의 기준 탐구

국내의 대학에서 1990년대부터 도입한 강의평가제는 교수․학습 과정의 개선을 통한 대학 교육의 효과성 관리를 가능하게 하는 하나의 방안이라는 의의를 지니고 있으나 학생들의 기호가 강의평가의 유일한 기준이 되고 있어 강의평가 내용을 강의개선으로 연결시키기 위해 필요한 비교․분석의 기준을 알 수 없다는 한계를 안고 있다. 이런 문제의식에 근거해서 이 연구는 학생들이 생각하는 좋은 강의의 특성을 살펴봄으로써 학생의 강의만족도를 높이는데 어떤 요인이 작용하고 있으며, 이를 측정하기 위해서 어떤 강의평가 항목들이 보완되어야 하는지 분석하였다. 연구결과 좋은 강의에 중요한 요인 학자로서의 전문성으로 교수자 요인이 다른 요인에 비해 크게 나타났다. 이 연구를 통해 학생들이 생각하는 대학에서의 좋은 강의의 특성을 점검할 수 있었다. 이런 강의현장에 기초한 연구결과가 축적되어 향후 강의개선안 및 강의평가 방안 개발에 실질적으로 기여하게 되기를 기대한다.
Abstract
Though a course evaluation system introduced in 1990's is one of the alternatives that is able to manage effectiveness of education, students' preference of courses in university has been the only criterion of course evaluation. It limits the improvement of courses, because it is difficult to know what the criteria of comparison and analysis for improvement of courses based on results of course evaluation are. By observing the characteristics of good courses in students' side, this study has an intention to analyze factors that influence on raising the course satisfaction level, and items that should be supplemented to measure these factors. Statistical analysis shows that instructor(or professor) factor which is professionalism as a scholar have a significant effect on making good course, and it suggests what the characteristics of good courses expected by students are. In addtion, there are expectations that accumulation based on classroom would substantially contribute to develop plans for course improvement and course evaluation.
