본 연구는 교수설계자(혹은 교수자)의 PBL설계과정을 안내하는 PBL설계모형을 개발하는 데 초점을 둔다. 개발연구에 해당하며, 연구의 결과물로서 문제중심학습 설계모형과 그 모형을 토대로 한 PBL설계활동 체크리스트가 개발되었다. PBL설계 및 개발과정 관련 문헌분석결과, PBL수업사례연구를 통해 확인된 PBL수업 시 학습자의 어려움 분석결과와 PBL설계 시 초보 교수설계자의 어려움 분석결과를 토대로 1차 PBL설계모형 및 체크리스트를 개발하였다. 1차 모형과 체크리스트에 대한 사용자 검토와 전문가 검토가 동시적으로 진행되었는데, 사용자 검토에 초보 교수설계자로서 교육공학전공 학생 17여명이 참여하였고, 교육공학전공 교수 1명으로부터 전문가 검토를 받았다. 사용자 검토에는 1차 모형의 안면 타당성을 묻는 설문조사(모형 활용 전과 후)와 모형 및 체크리스트를 활용한 PBL설계과제 수행 후 포커스그룹 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 1차 모형과 체크리스트에 대한 검토 결과를 토대로 2차 PBL설계모형 및 체크리스트를 개발하였고, 2차 모형에 대한 전문가 검토(2명)를 받았다. 전문가들은 2차 모형 및 체크리스트에 대해 긍정적으로 평가하였다. 2차 PBL설계모형은 분석단계, 설계단계, 형성평가단계를 포함하는데, 분석단계에 요구분석, 내용분석 및 자료수집, 학습자분석, 환경분석이 진행되고, 분석결과를 토대로 한 PBL적합성 판단이 이루어진다. 설계단계에는 학습환경결정(면대면, e-러닝, 블렌디드) 후 문제상황설계가 수행되고, 문제 해결과정 촉진설계, 학습자원설계, 운영전략설계, 평가설계가 동시적으로 진행된다. 초기 결정한 학습환경 유형에 따른 각 학습환경별 설계가 진행된 후 1차 PBL설계안에 대한 형성평가를 실시하고 수정하여 최종 PBL설계안을 완성한다. 개발된 PBL설계모형과 체크리스트는 실제에서 교수설계자의 활동을 안내하는 가이드의 역할을 하리라고 기대되며, 지속적인 현장 적용을 통한 모형 검증 작업이 요청된다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to develop an instructional design model of PBL and a checklist for guiding instructional designers in designing a PBL course. The PBL design model and a checklist were developed through the following procedures: 1)conducting literature review to find the components of model, and a PBL case study to identify learners' difficulties in PBL and novice instructional designers' difficulties in designing a PBL course, 2)developing the 1st PBL design model based on the results of literature review and the PBL case study, 3)conducting the user review which included a questionnaire and a focus group interview of students after using the 1st model(and a checklist) in designing a PBL course, and the expert review about the 1st model and a checklist, 4)developing the 2nd PBL design model and a checklist, 5)conducting the expert review about the 2nd model and a checklist. The results of expert review were positive about the 2nd PBL design model and the checklist. The 2nd PBL design model consists of the analysis stage, the design stage and the formative evaluation stage. The analysis stage includes needs analysis, content analysis & gathering materials, learner analysis, and context analysis. Based on the results of analysis activities, an instructional designer decides whether the PBL approach as an instructional design strategy is appropriate in the setting. In the design stage, after deciding the type of learning environment(offline, e-learning, blended), instructional designers conduct problem situation design and then proceed other design activities concurrently(design to facilitate problem solving process, learning resources design, implementation strategy design, evaluation design). According to each learning environment, general design activities such as creating a lesson plan are conducted. Formative evaluation & revision is conducted and a final PBL design is accomplished. The PBL design model and the checklist is expected to guide an instructional designer's activities in designing a PBL course.
