한국어번역 학습자 번역 능력의 평가 구인 설정에 대한 제안

본 연구는 한국어번역 학습자 번역 능력 평가 기준 개발의 일환으로 평가 구인 체계를 제안하는 데에 목적이있다. 본 연구에서는 두 절차를 밟아서 평가 구인 체계를 개발하였다. 첫째, 번역 능력 평가의 개념을 검토하고 재정립하였다. 기존 번역 능력 모델의 구성 요소를 전반적으로 범주화하여 새로운 번역 능력 모델을 조작하여, 크게 ‘출발어능력’, ‘도착어 능력’, ‘주제 지식 능력’, ‘번역 전략 능력’의 4개의 대범주를 설정하고 총 17개의 하위 요소를 제시했다. 둘째, 현행 및 선행연구에서 제시하는 번역 능력 평가 항목들을 조작된 번역 능력 모델에 따라 재분류하여 총 380개의평가 항목을 수집하였다. 각 평가 항목에 고빈도로 나오는 ‘행동’을 표현하는 키워드 23개와 ‘기준’을 표현하는 키워드29개를 추출하여 평가 세부 내용 작성의 기반 자료를 만들었다. 이러한 기반 자료를 바탕으로 최종적으로 ‘출발어능력’ 범주에 4개, ‘도착어 능력’ 범주에 14개, ‘주제 지식 능력’ 범주에 5개, ‘번역 전략 능력’ 범주에 18개로 총41개의 세부 내용을 제시하여 평가 구인 체계를 마련하였다. 본 연구는 한국어번역 교육에서 평가 연구에 대한 인식을높이고 평가 기준 구축에 기초 자료를 제공하는 데에 의의가 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to develop a construct to assess Korean translation learners’ competence. The construct was developed following 2 procedures. First, the concept of translation competence assessment was reviewed and redefined. Previous research on translation competence was analyzed. A new translation competence model was developed with four components-“source language competence”, “target language competence”, “subject knowledge competence”, “translation strategy competence”- and 17 sub-elements. Second, this study reviewed the current translation assessment rubric. A total of 380 assessment items were collected and reclassified. 23 keywords describing “behavior” and 29 keywords describing “criteria” were extracted to create the basis for detailed assessment content. Based on the data, this study developed the construct with 41 items to assess translation competence: 4 items for “source language competence”, 14 items for “target language competence”, 5 items for “subject knowledge competence”, and 18 items for “translation strategy competence”. This study opens new perspectives for assessment in Korean translation education and provides basic data for developing a translation competence assessment rubric.
