연구 목적: 본고의 목적은 아랍권 한국어 전공 학생들의 부족한 번역능력을 배양하는 것을 학부 번역 교육의 목표로 설정하는 데에 있다. 연구 방법: 한국어 전공이 있는 유일한 세 개 아랍 대학교를 대상으로 실태 분석과 요구조사, 시장분석을 시행하여 현재 번역 교육과정의 한계점을 파악하였다. 그 결과를 근거로 하여 아랍권 한국어 전공자들의 부족한 번역능력을 파악하였다. 연구 내용: 본고는 번역능력의 개념은 번역 교육목표를 설정하는 데 있어서 중요함을 강조하였다. 그리고 아랍권 한국어 전공 학생들에게 학부 번역의 교육목표를 설정하였으며 이 각각의 목표를 달성하는 방안을 논의하였다. 결론 및 제언: 한국어 전공이 있는 아랍 대학교의 학부 번역 교육과정을 개선하기 위해 효율적인 교육목표를 번역능력을 기반으로 하여 제안하였다.
Abstract
This research aims at setting the educational objectives of the undergraduate translation curriculum in the only three Arab universities with Korean language major. This study is to improve their translation curriculum through the concept of translation competence. An analysis of the internal and external factors affecting the educational process was conducted. The former included the status quo of translation education in these universities through status analysis. Specifically, the currently offered translation courses, their content (syllabus, textbooks if any), teaching and evaluation methods, and identifying the related deficiencies. The latter included the translation market between the two languages, which influences the selection of the texts to be translated by the students, the professional competencies needed, and so on. Then needs analysis was conducted. Based on these analysis tools, translation competencies that Arab students lack were identified. Developing these competencies has been set as the educational objective of the curriculum, and methods to achieve these objectives are suggested in this paper.
