교과-비교과 연계 교육과정(Co-Curriculum)이 학생의 전공역량과 만족도에 미치는 영향 : D대학교 공과대학 ‘일반수학2’의 사례를 중심으로

역량중심 교육의 강조에 따라 대학 교육에서 비교과 프로그램의 중요성이 증가하고 있으며, 비교과 프로그램이대학의 경쟁력에 미치는 영향도 커지고 있다. 비교과 프로그램의 활성화에 따라 점차적으로 정규 교육과정과 비정규교육과정 간 차이가 축소되고 있는 것이 현실이다. 비교과 교육과정의 개념이 교과활동 이외의 과정이란 의미의Extra-Curriculum 개념에서 정규 교과교육과 함께 하는 교육과정 즉 Co-Curriculum의 개념으로 확대되는 추세이다. 따라서 대학 교육의 궁극적 목적인 미래형 인재 양성을 위해서는 정규 교육과정과 비교과 교육과정이 상호 연계성을가질 수 있도록 설계하고 운영하는 것이 중요하다. 본 연구는 전공 교과와 비교과 프로그램의 연계 사례를 분석하여제시함으로써, 연계 교육의 중요성을 드러내는 것을 목적으로 한다. 수도권 소재 D대학교에서 최근에 실시한 교과-비교과연계 형태의 수업 성과를 분석하였다. 교과 담당자와 비교과 담당자 간의 긴밀한 대화와 협력, 전공 교과 수강생의연계 비교과 프로그램 참여 강제, 비교과 참여 결과의 전공 학점 반영 등 적극적 연계 방식을 도입하였다는 점에서기존의 연구에서 보고된 사례들과는 차별성이 있다. 분석 결과 교과-비교과 연계 프로그램이 학생들의 전공역량성장에 매우 긍정적인 영향을 미친 것으로 나타났다. 연계 프로그램 참여 학생들의 지식활용역량, 논리적사고역량, 창의적문제해결역량이 통계적으로 유의미하게 증가한 것으로 나타났다. 연계 프로그램에 참여한 학생들의 비교과프로그램에 대한 만족도 또한 매우 높게 나타났다.
Abstract
In recent college education, the importance of informal curricular activities in addition to formal curricular has been emphasized. Differences between formal and informal curriculum are gradually disappearing as extra-curriculum are activated. Accordingly, the concept of informal curricular activities is expanding from the concept of extra-curriculum that means a curriculum other than a formal curriculum, to the concept of co-curriculum, which is a curriculum that cooperates with formal curriculum. Therefore, in order to cultivate students’ competency for future society, which is the ultimate goal of college education, it is important to design and operate the formal and informal curriculum so that they can be interconnected. This study was conducted with the aim of showing the effect of cooperation between formal and informal curriculum through specific practices. I analyzed the case of cooperation between formal and informal curriculum at a university in the metropolitan area. In order to pursue the effective cooperation between the formal and informal curriculum, some active linkage methods were introduced, such as close dialogue and cooperation between the master lecturers, compulsory participation in the informal curriculum, and reflection of the results of participation in the informal curriculum in student’s credit. This is different from the findings reported in most previous studies. As a result of analysis, it was found that the cooperation between formal and informal curricular had a very positive effect on students' major competency growth. The knowledge utilization competency, logical thinking competency, and creative problem-solving competency of students participating in the co-curriculum increased statistically significantly. It was also found that the class satisfaction of the students participating in the co-curriculum was very high.
