Abstract
This study aimed to conduct a meta-analysis of the relationship between teacher emotions, teacher burnout, and job satisfaction using meta structural equation modeling. Forty-three studies were analyzed by reviewing studies on teacher emotions, teacher exhaustion, and job satisfaction published in Korea and abroad from 2000 to 2023. When examining the intercorrelation between the variables, teachers’ positive emotions showed a negative effect size of medium level with teacher burnout and a positive effect size of medium level with job satisfaction. Teachers’ negative emotions showed a positive effect size of medium level with teacher burnout and a negative effect size of medium level with job satisfaction. By applying the meta-structure equation modeling, teachers’ positive emotions positively affected job satisfaction. Teachers’ negative emotions had a positive and negative effect on teacher burnout and job satisfaction, respectively. This study is meaningful in that it sought measures to lower teacher burnout and increase job satisfaction by examining the effects of teacher emotions on teacher burnout and job satisfaction through a meta-analysis.
