생태윤리학의 다원론적 접근에 관한 연구

생태윤리학은 인간의 자연에 대한 도덕적인 가치판단을 탐구하는 학문이며, 생태윤리학의 연구는 우리 인류에게 자정능력을 상실한 지구를 살리기 위한 근원적인 연구로서 중요한 의미를 지닌다. 이제는 더 이상 인간이 주인이고 자연 및 기타 주변의 모든 생태계는 인간의 목적에 봉사하기 위해 존재한다는 그릇된 시각이 아니라 인류와 모든 생태계가 함께 공존해야 한다는 열린 사고가 필요한 때다. 지구가 이제 자정능력(assimilative capacity)을 상실하고 있다는 것은 생태계가 위기에 처해있다는 또 다른 표현으로서 정말로 안타까운 일이다. 생태계의 자정능력이란 생태계의 환경에 위해나 변화가 발생할 때 그 변화에 적응하고 균형을 유지하여 영향을 줄일 수 있는 능력이며, 더 나아가 원래의 상태로 회복되어 가는 능력이라고 볼 수 있다. 이러한 자정능력을 상실한 지구의 생태적 위기를 극복하기 위해서는 그 원인에 대한 정확한 탐구와 이에 대한 대응책이 함께 강구되어야 할 것이다. 우리 인류에게는 자연적 환경과 사회적 환경에 대한 철저한 조사와 그 결과에 근거한 인간의 생태환경에 대한 새로운 의식의 전환이 필요하며 이러한 의식의 전환이 없이는 생태계의 위기는 계속될 수밖에 없을 것이다. 본 연구에서는 생태체계의 위기를 극복하기 위한 여러 가지 접근 중에 다원론적인 접근에 대한 연구를 하고자 했다.
Abstract
We human have confronted with serious ecological crisis. It will be hazardous effect for our human life. In a word, there was a noticeably accelerating degradation of the ecosystem, which was seen to endanger the life-sustaining capacity of living-things of the earth. Moreover, the consequences of its effects on the biosphere were seen as becoming irreversible in every where in the earth. Also, major ecological degradations took place in every parts of the world. In these days, the earth lost her assimilative capacity. It means that the environmental condition of the earth has worsened. In this paper, I intend to explain about the Moral Pluralism for the Ecological-Ethics. The Environmental ethics movement has always known that if it is to succeed, it has to challenge the prevailing orthodoxy. But the orthodoxy it has targeted is only the more obvious one, the orthodoxy of morals : that man is the measure of all value. Of course, there are some debate with the moral pluralism for Ecological-ethics. But, like a moderate pluralist as Callicott, I will only introduce the moral pluralism as one of the applied ethical theory. Also, I hope it will be one of the approach for Ecological-ethics Studies.
