대학에서의 통일교육 수업을 위한 PBL 기반 교수-학습 모형 개발

지속적인 북한의 위협과 도발로 인한 남북간 긴장과 대치 상황이 이어짐에도불구하고, 통일을 위한 준비는 꾸준하고 치밀하게 이루어져야 한다. 통일교육은 통일문제를 다룸에 있어 가장 현실적인 접근이며, 그 출발은 미래 통일한국의 주역을 양성하는 대학에서부터 시작되어야 한다. 그러나 안타깝게도 우리의 대학교육은 통일교육에 매우 소홀하며, 대학생들의 통일 인식과 의지가 날이 갈수록 저하되는 실정이다. 수 년간 정부 및 기관들에서 행한 ‘대학생통일의식조사’의 결과를 분석하면, 대학통일교육과 관련하여 많은 대학생들이 통일교육의 효과나 성과에 대해 부정적견해를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 이러한 문제의식에서 출발하여 특히대학통일교육에 관한 교육내용 차원의 문제보다는 교육방법의 문제에 초점을 두고서 그 접근 방법을 개선시켜 궁극적으로 대학통일교육의 성과를 높이고자 한다. 이를 위해 전통적 수업 방법에 비해 훨씬 학생들의 학업성취에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 인정받아 온 문제중심학습(PBL)을 활용하고자 한다. 그리하여대학에서의 통일교육에 PBL을 접목하여 수업의 효율성을 높이고, 그 결과 대학생들의 통일 관심도와 통일의식의 성취수준을 향상시키고자 하였다.
Abstract
Under the presupposition that Unification Education in university could be regarded as a necessary condition for Korea unification, this study provides an method of effective Unification Education at the university level. The purpose of this study is to examine possibility of application PBL(Problem-based Learning) to Unification Education in university for enhancing the effectiveness for Unification Education. In this article, I would like to explore method of Unification Education based on PBL. I am here concerned with the key aspects and feature of PBL. The first chapter exploration the major fundamental notions and distinctive feature of PBL. The second chapter presents PBL instructional design and model. The third chapter make a try practical application of PBL to classrom situation of Unification Education. In this article, I am not concerned with the effectiveness of plan of model itself. It is interesting to follow up this point further, but this is not our present concern. As the purpose of this paper is concerned, it is not necessary to discuss perfection of the PBL plan or model. In PBL, students collaborate to study the issues of a problem as they strive to create viable solution. And this, it is worthy of applying PBL to Unification Education in university for improving the effectiveness of learning.
