양성평등교육을 실현하기 위한 그동안의 노력들에 힘입어 그 긍정적인 성과가 서서히 나타나고 있긴 하지만, 교육과정과 교과서를 분석해보면 아직도 양성 불평등적인 요소들이 부분적으로 남아 있다. 필자는 도덕과 교육에 내재된 이러한 양성불평등적인 측면들을 개선하여 실질인 양성평등한 교육이 실현될 때, 양성평등사회의 실현을 기대할 수 있다는 관점에서 도덕과교육을 통한 양성평등교육방법을 모색해보았다. 이를 위해서 먼저 양성평등의 의미를 규정하고, 이에 기초해서 양성평등교육의 의미를 정의해 보았다. 양성평등교육은 동등한 양성평등교육, 공정한 양성평등교육, 비판적인 양성평등의식교육의 입장을 모두 포괄할 수 있어야 한다는 관점에서 그 의미를 정의해 보았다. 이러한 포괄적인 양성평등적 관점에서 도덕과 교육과정 및 교과서를 분석하여 그 문제점과 한계를 지적하고 그 개선방안도 제시해 보았다. 끝으로 양성평등한 도덕과교육을 위한 발전 방향을 네가지 관점에서 제시해 보았다.
Abstract
The Purpose of this paper is to suggest the strategies for the gender equitable moral education. For this purpose, First, I tried to clarify the meaning of gender equitable moral education. Second I analyzed The 7th Elementary moral studies curriculum and text books(3-6) in the gender equitable point. The major findings of this analysis was that the textbook used sex-biased language. The ratio of women was too low in the moral stories and moral cartoon. The mission of the moral textbook was not to reinforce but to diminish or eradicate gender stereotype role. But the morther and women in the text book was mainly house keeper or child-carer. Incruding this, The fact that nurse, service worker, clerk was mainly women but the doctor, army, policeman, scientists was man is the evidence that the text books has been to reinforce gender stereo-type role. In the base of this results, Finally I suggested some gender equitable moral educational strategies in the Elementary School. which would establish gender equitable society.
