본 연구의 목적은 예비교사들로 하여금 초, 중, 고, 대학생들을 대상으로 콜버그식 도덕딜레마 면접을 실시하게 하여 예비교사들의 도덕딜레마 인터뷰 방식에 대한 이해를 알아보는 데 있다. 갈브레이스와 존스(Galbraith & Jones)는 도덕딜레마의 요소로 딜레마 상황이 학생들의 삶, 내용 혹은 오늘날의 사회생활에 초점을 두어야 하고. 중심인물, 선택 상황, 도덕 주제들을 포함해야 하며, “어떻게 해야 하는가?”의 의무형 질문이 사용되어야 함을 제시하였다. 본 연구의 참여자들은 교육대학 재학생 5명이었으며, 이들은 콜버그에 대한 도덕 발달이론에 대한 강의를 수강한 후, 초․중․고․대학생들을 대상으로 콜버그식 면담을 실시한 후, 그 내용을 녹취하여 자료를 제출하였다. 연구자는 수집된 예비 교사들의 콜버그 면담자료(음성 및 녹취파일)을 대상으로 연속적 비교전략을 활용하여 질적 자료 분석을 실시하였다. 자료 분석 결과, 6가지 주제들(면담 질문의 활용, 면담자의 중립, 등장인물의 변경, 추가 질문의 차이, 단계 규정, 연구 참여 소감)을 선정하였다. 도덕 딜레마 면접은 궁극적으로 교실에서 이루어지는 도덕 토론 수업과 매우 관련이 있어 향 후 초등학교에서 학생들에게 도덕토론 수업을 진행할 예비 교사들의 도덕 딜레마 면접 능력은 매우 중요하다. 또 위에서 밝혀진 주제들을 중심으로 도덕 딜레마 면접 과정을 더욱 세련화시키고 발전시켜 나간다면, 예비교사들의 도덕성 발달에 대한 이해와 현장 적용능력을 효과적으로 증진시킬 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate pre-service teachers' understanding of Kolhberg's moral dilemma interview by letting the pre-service teachers implement moral dilemma interview to students. Galbraith & Jones(1976) presented five essential ingredients of moral dilemma: focus on the lives of the students, the course content, or contemporary society; central character; choice; moral issues; and a "Should" question. The participants of this study were 5 pre-service teachers who attended the researchers' moral education course. After taking the course, they implemented moral dilemmas interview to elementary, junior high school, high school and college level students. All processes of interview were recorded and transcribed. The researcher analyzed the data using the constant comparison method as a qualitative data analysis. The data were coded and categorized into 6 issues (Use of interview questions, neutrality of researcher's role, change of central character or primary group of characters in the dilemma story, difference of in-depth questions, determination of moral reasoning stage, and epilogue of interview). The competence of pre-service teachers' using moral dilemma interview is very important when the future teachers implement moral discussion approach in their classroom because moral dilemma interview is directly related to moral discussion approach. When we develop pre-service teachers' competence of moral dilemma interview base on the results of this study, the future teachers can efficiently promote their understanding and application of moral development theory.
