교육대학생들의 표절 의식 조사

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to survey college of education students' understanding and attitude on plagiarism and to develop a foundation for the program in order to enhance research ethics. Contemporarily plagiarism in the academic field has become very important issues. Socially some of respected politicians, educators, and celebrities' dissertations or academic papers has violated research ethics, especially plagiarism and thus the voice of social reflection is growing gradually. Research misconduct such as data falsification, fabrication, plagiarism occurs in the area of ​​natural sciences as well as humanities and social research area. In the case of the current college of education students, they have not received a systematic training when they write term papers and thesis. Also there was no systematic research on their misconduct in research ethics. As pre-service elementary teachers, college of education students have responsibility to know how to write their papers and cite other’s intellectual property ethically for their future elementary students. Therefore, this study was to survey college students' awareness of plagiarism and research ethics. For this study, research participants were 185students(44 male students and 141 female students) from one university of education. The survey questions were divided into two parts, one for behavior related to plagiarism, the other for awareness of plagiarism. The main results obtained in this study is that currently many college of education students are doing a lot of plagiarism and related activities, and the plagiarism prevention education is need. Preferentially plagiarism prevention education targeting college curriculum is an urgent need to develop.
