수업과제와 표절에 관한 예비교사의 인식과 영향요인

본 연구는 교직수업을 수강하는 사범대학 학생들을 대상으로 수업과제 수행현황과 표절에 대한 전반적인 인식을 조사하여 향후 예비교사들을 위한 학업윤리 교육 및 표절예방 대책 마련을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 이에 수도권 소재 4년제 A대학의 예비교사 109명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 본 연구의 주요 결과를 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 예비교사들의 수업과 관련된 과제물 수행 현황을 살펴보면, 예비교사들은 수업에서 과제표절 예방교육을 받았음에도 불구하고 과제를 수행하면서 직․간접적으로 과제표절을 경험하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 대부분의 예비교사들은 과제물 매매사이트에 대한 존재를 인지하고 있었으며, 과제물 매매사이트에서 과제물을 구매하여 작성한 과제물 형식을 살펴보면 객관적 자료나 감상문 등과 같이 정답이 주어져 있는 경우인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 예비교사들의 과제표절에 관한 인식을 살펴보면, 표절관련, 수업과제관련, 수업관련 변인들은 예비교사의 과제표절에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 각 변인들의 세부 결과를 살펴보면, 표절관련 변인에서 예비교사는 대학 내 학생들의 과제표절에 대해서 심각성을 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 뿐만 아니라, 예비교사들은 대학 또는 수업에서 일회성으로 표절예방교육을 받았음에도 불구하고 표절유형 및 범위에 대한 인식이 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 수업과제관련 변인에서 예비교사가 과제표절을 하게 되는 이유는 과제물의 난이도 및 분량이 적절하지 않거나 과제물에 대한 이해나 흥미가 부족한 경우라고 나타났다. 반면에 교수자가 예비교사의 과제작성을 돕기 위해 다양한 사례나 충분한 피드백이 제공되는 경우 윤리적 과제 수행에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 수업관련 변인에서 예비교사들은 교수자의 평소 수업분위기나 학습자가 인식하고 있는 교수자에 대한 이미지 및 성향이 과제물 수행에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구에서는 예비교사의 학습윤리에 대한 인식 강화 및 과제표절 근절 대책을 위한 제언을 제시하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to address pre-service teachers' perception of learning tasks and plagiarism and provide basic, empirical data to develop effective education program and policies on student ethics and anti-plagiarism. A total of 109 pre-service teachers at a single large 4-year university responded to a survey and the following summarizes the survey results as well as some important insights to the attitudes and habits of the pre-service teachers regarding their assigned learning tasks and plagiarism: first, despite having completed plagiarism prevention courses, the majority of respondents were committing or observing plagiarism while completing class-related tasks. Second, many respondents were aware of the existence of report-mill companies or report-trading websites, and the most popular types of assignments purchased or traded included literature review or topical essays. Third, the overall survey results indicated that pre-service teachers’ attitudes and behaviors towards learning tasks and plagiarism were influenced by plagiarism-related variables, task-related variables, and instruction-related variables. Based on the analysis of survey data, the study proposed a series of suggestions for enhancing pre-service teachers' awareness of academic integrity and anti-plagiarism.
