『공자가어』의 윤리의식과 교육적 함의

Abstract

This work identifies 『Confucius Words』 as a logical structure of ‘ye(禮)’ and ‘jeong(政)’, and explores the nature and contents of ethical consciousness in it, while presenting educational meanings. 『Confucius Words』, which consists of 44 pieces, vividly describes the anecdotes and conversations between Confucius and his disciples. However, it was relatively not valued than 『The Analects』 due to the theory of forgery, until newly excavated materials in the late 20th century reevaluated it. 『Confucius Words』 contains a plan to restore order in the chaotic ‘Spring and Autumn period(春秋時代)’, and pursues the ‘World of Great Harmony(大同社會)’ with ‘ye(禮)’ as the core operating principle. Ethics in『Confucius Words』 has ‘Hosaeng(好生)’ and ‘Aein(愛人)’, which means saving people and loving people, respectively, as essential. It also deals with leaders’ ethics and perspective about life and death. For the positive development of human civilization, it is necessary to emphasize ethics rather than political logic, in a situation where the development of human civilization is greatly affected by political logic. In this context, 『Confucius Words』 has a significant meaning. This work derives three educational implications from 『Confucius Words』; 1) the importance of ethics rather than political logic, 2) the possibility of ethics education using narratives and music from it, 3) lessons from the characters in it.
