본 논문은 경제성장 기조를 지속하면서 국내물가관리를 위한 한국 정부의 직접규제정책의 효과성을 분석하였다. 한국은 건국초기부터 심각한 물가불안정을 경험했다. 1960년대부터 물가안정을 위한 강력한 가격통제와 같은 물가 규제정책을 추진하였다. 이후 경제적 상황변화와 정부 교체 상황에서 시기별로 많은 물가관리 정책의 변화를 경험하였다. 본 논문은 역대 한국 정부의 물가관리정책의 변화를 살피고, 실제 물가에 미치는 각 시대별 주요요인을 경험적으로 분석하였다. 직접규제에서 탈피하기 시작한 1980년대부터 정부정책의 효과를 확인할 수 있었다. 본 논문은 각 시대별 정책과 물가변화요인의 상관관계를 확인하여 물가에 대한 직접규제의 비효과성을 보여준다.
Abstract
This article analyzed the effects of government’s regulatory polices for domestic price stability in the stage of economic development. South Korea has had a serious experience of domestic price instability after National establishment. the South Korea implemented the price control polices for price stability when the government sought the economic growth-first polices after early 1960’s. the South Korea changed some polices for price stability according to the governmental replacement and the change of international economic situation. This article provides a brief summary of South Korean Policy and empirically analyzed the major factors of Price fluctuation. This article found that the deregulated policy had a strong effect for price stability than direct regulatory policy after 1980’s.
