이 연구는 초·중학교 통일교육에 대한 기존 연구와 부산 현장 교사들의 FGI 조사, 분석을 통한 진단을 기초로 하여, 부산형 학교 평화통일교육의 기반과 방향을 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 부산형 학교 평화통일교육은 제도적·공간적 기반을 근거로 하여 5가지 방향을 제시하였다. 첫째, 평화통일 지향이다. 둘째, 교사의 능동성과 학생의 자기 주도성 강화이다. 셋째, 부산 지역사회 연계 확대이다. 넷째, 부산의 평화통일교육 현장과 연계된 교수·학습 효과 제고이다. 다섯째, 부산의 학교 평화통일교육 주체들의 협력 확대와 강화이다. 이 연구에서는 부산형 학교 평화통일교육 활성화를 위해 ‘부산 학교 평화통일교육 센터’ 설치, ‘부산의 평화통일’ 인정교과서 개발, 민주시민교육과의 연계 등을 제안하였다.
Abstract
This study aims to present the foundations and directions of a Busan-style school peace and unification education, based on a review of existing research on unification education in elementary and middle schools, as well as FGIs (Focus Group Interviews) and analyses with teachers in Busan. The Busan-style school peace and unification education proposes five key directions grounded in institutional and spatial foundations. First, an orientation toward peace and unification. Second, strengthening teachers’ proactivity and students’ self-directed learning. Third, expanding connections with the local Busan community. Fourth, enhancing teaching and learning effectiveness in connection with peace and unification education sites in Busan. Fifth, expanding and strengthening collaboration among stakeholders of school peace and unification education in Busan. To promote Busan-style school peace and unification education, this study suggests establishing a ‘Busan School Peace and Unification Education Center’, developing an authorized textbook titled ‘Peace and Unification in Busan’, and linking peace and unification education with democratic citizenship education.
