Abstract
This article seeks to analyze the impact that the evolution of the nuclear weapons has had on the international politics. It reviews the history, theories, and policies involving the international politics of nuclear weapons to pave the way for a sound analysis and prediction on the current and future international relations that the United States under Barack Obama is trying to “make of.” The article indicates that the Obama's vision is and will be faced with formidable internal and external obstacles in its way to the “world without nuclear weapons” and that even the “dream-come-true” may not what the initiators had wished and expected. It concludes that only the serious and prudent non-military (as well as military) efforts led by the United States and international society could make the future of international politics look close to the “dream.”
