본 논문은 청소년 폭력 문제를 사회학적 관점이나 심리학적 혹은 정신병리학적 관점이 아닌 철학실천적 관점을 통해 검토해 보고자 한다. 특히 여기서는활동적 삶에서 ‘사유의 부재’의 심각성을 지적한 아렌트의 사상과 관련하여 청소년폭력의 해결방안을 모색해 보고자 한다. 본 논문은 그 해결 방안으로 입시위주의교육에 지나치게 편중되어 교육 현장에서 소홀히 다루어지고 있는 철학 교육을 그대안으로 제시하고자 한다. 철학 교육의 핵심은 청소년들이 평소 타인과 함께 느끼는 ‘공통감’(common sense)에 입각해 사고하고 판단하도록 이끌어주는 데 있다. 이와 더불어 본 논문은 이런 철학 교육과 관련하여 특히 철학실천으로서의 ‘집단철학상담’의 중요성과 그 필요성을 강조하고자 한다. 집단상담의 철학 교육은 학교 현장에서의 청소년 폭력 문제를 근본적으로 해결하는 대안이자 폭력으로 상처받은 청소년을 치유하는 구체적인 수단이 될 수 있다. 이는 비단 폭력의 피해자뿐만 아니라 폭력의 가해자로 하여금 폭력의 심각성을 자각하도록 도와줌으로써 사후처방이아닌 예방적 차원의 교육이 될 것이다.
Abstract
Applying Arendt’s philosophy as the focal point, this paper discusses the roleof philosophical counseling of practical philosophy for the prevention of youthviolence. The cause of youth violence is negligence; in other words, thepurpose of this paper is to awaken the communal sense to find a fundamentalsolution for the issue of youth violence. That is, the objective is also to seekthe potential of group philosophical counseling as a methodology ofphilosophical education that increases aesthetic judgment based on commonsense. Common sense frees us from personal conditions and also offers thefoundation to communicate with others from our imagination and self-reflectionto acquire a unique, virtuous, and relative nonpartisan of judgment. Throughthis kind of education, one becomes aware of the fact that silence andsympathy shown in presence of violence is also another form of violence. Fromhere, this paper emphasizes to teenagers the way of life, the nonviolence ofrelationships and to consider a plan to practice nonviolence. Philosophicaleducation, paired with reason and practice, not only reinforces the prevention ofrepeated delinquency of harmful teenagers but also protects damaged teenagersand heals their broken hearts.
