초록

This paper is designed to compare Italian business culture with those of Korea and Japan respectively in order to argue that the former has more similarities to Korean culture rather than Japanese one. For the analysis, Moon & Choi (2001)’s OUI (Openness; Uncertainty Avoidance; Individualism) Model was used. Based upon the existing analysis with the data collected up to 2000, this paper analyzed the updated data in order to reinforce the OUI Model’s existing analysis findings. This study concludes that Italian business culture is more similar to the Korean one rather than the Japanese one, unlike the general perception (including that of Korean people) that Korea is more similar to Japan than to Italy in many ways.

Abstract

This paper is designed to compare Italian business culture with those of Korea and Japan respectively in order to argue that the former has more similarities to Korean culture rather than Japanese one. For the analysis, Moon & Choi (2001)’s OUI (Openness; Uncertainty Avoidance; Individualism) Model was used. This study concludes that Italian business culture is more similar to the Korean one rather than the Japanese one, unlike the general perception (including that of Korean people) that Korea is more similar to Japan than to Italy in many ways.
