초록
This study analyzed the communication between the protagonists in the movie Good Will Hunting, to explore a possible therapeutic method based on the conversations depicted therein. In the movie, Will faces various psychological problems rooted in the childhood trauma he has experienced, and receives conversation-based trauma therapy from his counselor Sean. This paper illustrates the consistency between the process of trauma therapy and the stages of Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP). The study divided Sean and Will's conversations into sections based on the four stages of AEDP, to determine the possible conversation strategy within each stage and analyze them for trauma therapy using the conversation method. In conclusion, the paper presents educational suggestions based on the conversation strategies that emerged in the dynamic psychotherapy process. These suggestions can be applied not only to trauma therapy, but also to conversations with strangers or hostile persons.
