Abstract

This paper categorizes semantic function of ‘V-dao’ into space domain, time domain, rating domain, degree domain and resultive domain, and explains that they form conceptual connections in interrelationship through conceptual metaphor and image schema. The five semantic domain have the basic meaning of reaching the target point, and the conceptual metaphor of TIME IS SPACE is based on the ‘V-dao’ semantic extension. A metaphor hierarchy is formed based on the conceptual reason of TIME IS QUANTITY, TIME IS QUANLITY, TIME IS SCALE OF CHANGE, and THE RESULT IS ACCUMULATION OF TIME. It can be confirmed from the image schema that “V-dao” is conceptually connected in the interrelationship. The image schema, which shows semantic domain of the “V-dao”, includes the starting point, ballistic body, target point, path, etc. The dotted line was processed because the path was hidden, but it remained consistent as soon as the ballistic body touched the target point. On the other hand, the name of the ballistic body is given in relation to the semantic domain, and displayed so that it is easy to input and process in accordance with the context of the situation. This is because the semantic expansion of “V-dao” is connected while maintaining interrelationship.
