교육가능급 일반 정신발달지체 청소년과 다운증후군 청소년들의 심폐기능의 차이

Abstract

The purpose of the this study is to compare the cardiopulmonary capacities of adolescent with down syndrome(Down) to mentally retarded adolescent without down syndrome(Non-Down). 20 males(Down 10 and Non-Down 10) participated in this study. There are no significant differences in cardiopulmonary parameters in resting state. However, heart rate(HR) and frequency of respiration(fR) are significantly higher in Down than in Non-Down when walking at 3mph, 0% grade. The maximal heart rate(HRmax), oxygen uptake(VO2max), minute ventilation(VEmax), respiratory exchange ratio(R) of Down are significantly lower than Non-Down during graded maximal exercise test.
