활동적인 장애 아동 및 청년의 심리적 건강영향요인과 주관적 건강 수준 간의 연관성 탐색

Exploring Factors Related to Psychological Health and Subjective Health Levels in Active Children and Youths with Disabilities Participating in Physical Activity

초록

규칙적인 신체활동 참여는 장애인들의 신체적 건강은 물론 사회적, 정신적 건강에도 긍정적인 영향을 준다. 그러나 대규모 표본을 활용하여 생애주기별 신체활동 참여에 따른 장애 아동 및 청년의 심리적 건강영향요인(장애수용, 자아존중감)과 주관적 건강의 관계를 밝힌 연구는 매우 부족하다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 2022년 장애인삶패널조사의 자료를 활용하여 규칙적으로 신체활동에 참여한 경험이 있는 장애 아동 및 청년의 심리적 건강영향요인(장애수용+자아존중감)과 주관적 건강의 자료를 선택하여 총 4,904명의 응답 중 2,230명(아동 및 청년)의 응답을 2차 분류 후, 규칙적인 신체활동 참여 경험이 있는 최종 454명의 자료를 분석하였다. 다중선형회귀분석을 통해 변인 간의 관계를 탐색한 결과, 첫째, 장애 아동과 청년 전체의 건강영향요인과 주관적건강은 유의미한 정적 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 장애 유형별 분석에서 신체적 장애인의 경우 건강영향요인과 주관적건강 수준이 유의미한 관계를 보였으나, 정신적 장애인에게는 유의미하지 않은 결과가 나타났다. 셋째, 장애 아동과 청년기를 나누어 분석한 결과 건강영향요인과 주관적건강 수준에서 유의미한 관계를 보였다. 이 연구 결과가 국내 장애인의 생애주기별 신체활동 참여 촉진과 건강증진을 위한 근거 기반 프로그램의 개발에 도움이 되길 기대한다.

Abstract

Participating in regular physical activity is known to have positive effects on people with disabilities, including their physical health as well as social and mental health. However, there is a lack of research evidence that has investigated the relationship between psychological health predictors and self-rated health of active children and young adults with disabilities across the life cycle using large samples. The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between psychological health predictors (disability acceptance + self-esteem) and self-rated health of children and youths with disabilities who participate in physical activities on a regular basis. Based on the 2022 Disability Life Panel Survey data (4,904 responses in total), 454 people who regularly participated in physical activity were extracted for analyses. Multiple regression showed that there was a significant relationship between the psychological health predictors and self-rated health of all study participants. In terms of disability types, the relationships were significant for those with physical disabilities, but not significant for those with mental disabilities. In addition, children and young adults all showed significant relationships when explored by age groups. It is expected that this study findings contribute to the development of evidence-based programs to better promote health of people with disabilities.
