게슈탈트 관점에서 본 독립기념관의 가로등 체계에 관한 연구

Abstract

The purpose of this research paper is for describing on actual issues of the streetlight system at The Independence Hall of Korea by gestalt approach and also for hoping an open discourse on the independence hall regarded as one of nowadays’ Korean topos. The research object is the visual features of The Independence Hall of Korea streetlight system or 4 visual elements of gestalt that suggested by Bernd Löbach. The main research is focused on describing features of 9 main buildings and 16 kinds of the streetlight for the analysis of similarity among them. The reason why the principle of similarity as main criterion of the interaction matrix is selected that the principles of proximity, closure and continuity can not run until similarity is occurred. As the result of analysis by the matrix, there is very few similarity between main figure of the core place and visual features of 7 kinds of streetlight. And what is more, the half shape of yin-yang at type C is quite contrary to the feature of main figure. Very glossy surfaces at type C and D are also quite contrary to the texture of main figure. These mean that the law of gestalt at The Independence Hall of Korea is obstructing by the streetlight system like a noise and most visitors get uncomfortable feeling like disorder because of nowadays’ poor streetlight system.
