우리나라 중소기업의 고용창출 결정요인에 관한 연구: 상장 중소기업을 중심으로

본 연구는 2003년부터 2011년까지 우리나라 증권시장에 상장된 모든 중소기업에 대한 패널데이터를 가지고, 중소기업의 일자리창출 결정요인과 일자리창출효과가 큰 기업의 특성을 분석하였다. 실증분석 결과, 일자리창출결정요인으로는 기업연수(age), 매출액증가율(salesgr), 토빈q(tobinq), 상시근로자수(emp) 등 네 가지 변수가 도출되었으며, 기업연수가 짧을수록, 매출액증가율, 상시근로자수, 그리고 기업가치가 클수록 일자리창출효과는 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 상호작용효과에서는 창업연도가 짧은 고성장기업일수록 신규일자리창출의 많은 부분을 설명해주고 있었다. 상시근로자를 많이 고용하는 규모가 큰 기업의 경우 매출액증가율이 높을수록 일자리창출효과가 커지는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 상시근로자수가 적지만 기업연수가 큰 기업, 또는 기업연수가 적으면서 상시근로자수가 많은 기업의 일자리창출효과가 큰 것으로 밝혀졌다. 더불어 중소기업의 고용창출효과는 규모가 일정수준에 이르기까지 하락하다가 그 이후 증가하는 관계로 추정된다. 따라서 졸업 단계에 있는 중소기업과 졸업 후 중견기업에 대한 육성과 보호대책이 요구된다. 한편 우리나라 중소기업은 제조업종과 비제조업종간 일자리창출결정요인에 차이가 나지 않았다.
Abstract
The purpose of this proposal is to search for determinants of job creation and firm’s characteristics which have big job creation effect on listed SME(Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) in Korea. We found out four job creation determinants as firm age, sales growth rate, corporate value and average employees numbers. We examine job creation effect depends upon ‘Gazelle effect’ on a listed SME in Korea. ‘Gazelle’ means young age and small size firm that is associated with rapid growth. The decreasing age of firm make job creation effect greater. And the increasing sales growth rate, regular employees number and corporate value make job creation effect greater. The decreasing age of firm and sales growth rate make job creation effect greater(Gazelle effect1). And the increasing size of firm and sales growth rate make job creation effect greater(Gazelle effect2). But the smaller firm age and the greater firm size is, the greater job creation effect is. On the contrary, the greater firm age and the smaller firm size is, the greater job creation effect is(Gazelle effect2). There is curvi-linear relationship between size of firm and job creation effect. That is, job creation effect of SME is increasing with firm size till certain level of size but after that job creation effect is decreasing. The upbringing and protection of backbone firms in Korea which exist between SMEs and large enterprises is to be required. The determinants of job creation of SME in Korea between manufacturing firm and non-manufacturing firm make no difference.
