Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examin influence of contextual effect on tennis skill learning by motivational theory. The subjects were 40 male university students, which were randomly distributed to 4 groups(high motivation-block practice group, high motivation- random practice group, low motivation-block practice group, low motivation-random practice group). The experiment was carried out 2(motivation level)☓2(practice condition)☓6(block) factorial design with repeated measures on the last factor for acquisition test and 2☓2☓2 factorial design with repeated measures on the last factor for retention test. The following results presented. First, the high motivation group more effective performance than low motivation group in acquisition and retention phase. Second, In main effect analysis, random practice group more effective performance than block practice group in retention phase.
