Abstract

This study looks into meaning of 'local', and specially, have reviewed possibilityof humanities in Kangbuk studies. In order to look into Kangbuk, I set up Kangnamto comparable object. As 'life community' sharing conditions of a daily life is a 'local',we are got possibility to treat a 'local' with one problematique. 'Local' will be aculture community, A life community, according to situations a community of'problem solving'. We can confirm an issue of the hard liquor which is one-sidedof an issue of a dominant method of international capitalism and a national dominantauthority at local. We can confirm concretely alternative life and culture at local. On the other hand, the humanities study what is truth, and goodness, beauty, andfurthermore humanities are not tied to capital and an political power. Humanitiesis the learning that dig fundamentally into about the objects. They don't enter intoa connection with reality pragmatically, functionally. Therefore, when the problemsthat local is impending are researched rightly, the local study can achieve ameaningful results. When they reviewed it in that kind of viewpoints as they compare Kangbuk andKangnam, necessity of local culture study is larger. Because life conditions ofKangbuk are behind compare with Kangnam. It is easy relatively to speak new lifein abundant conditions as Kangnam. However, an ardent wish regarding new lifeis more serious in environments to be difficult as Kangbuk. That is, Kangbuk islarger for an ardent wish regarding alternative life. Kangbuk is based on a spaceof a specific life of Seoul. And it is the object which Kangbuk gropes for alternativelife, and actually can open possibility of a new life community. The studies onKangbuk and life of people living to Kangbuk are the affirmative objects of local culture study at that kind of courses.
