뉴 미디어를 통해 본 강북․강남 ‘지역성’ 담론에 대한 비교 분석- 『내일신문』을 중심으로 -

Abstract

This study analyzes the image of locality on the northern Seoul called 'Gangbuk'and the southern Seoul called 'Gangnam,' which appears in the new media,《NaeilNewspaper》as a part of the local culture study. Based on it, it puts the purposein examining the formation process of discourse distribution on Gangbuk/Gangnam,and the production and reproduction of the new ideology. Study of local culture in Korea is a way of illuminating how region has beensettled as an image in the modernization process, further as a symbolic system. Today,'Region' is assessed as a symbol and measurement of wealth and class rather thanthe ground or base of life. Diversification that surrounds region leads to the discordof class, stratum, or social inequalities. Region has been manifested as the discourseof Gangbuk or the discourse of Gangnam in our society. Therefore, study on local culture is required for restoring the crippled and perversemeaning of the region to the unique meaning of life community or culturalcommunity. Accordingly, study on the region as a way of culture studies needs tomove forward toward humanistic studies going beyond the dimension of existingstudies based on a local history.
