본 연구의 목적은 남북한 교역의 변화와 군사적 갈등 간의 상호 인과성을 분석하는 데 있다. 남북한 교역의 변화와 군사갈등이 상호 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 분석한 결과 일원개체확률효과에서 남북한 간의 교역이 증가하면 군사갈등이 발생할 가능성이 낮아지고, 군사갈등이 발생하면 교역에 부정적인 영향을 미칠 가능성이 크다는 것이 확인됐다. 교역은 남북한 간의 인적 교류를 활성화시켜 상호 이해와 신뢰를 구축하는 데 기여할 수 있다. 반면에 군사갈등은 남북한 간의 긴장과 불신을 고조시켜 교역을 제한하는 요인으로 작용한다. 자유주의가 주장하는 교역과 군사갈등 간의 인과관계가 형성된다는 것을 확인할 수 있다. 남북한 간의 대화와 협력을 통해서 양국 간의 상호 신뢰 관계를 회복해 평화와 번영의 한반도를 만들어 나가야 한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyse the mutual causality between changes in trade between North and South Korea and military conflict. The results show that the one-way probability effect suggests that an increase in trade between North and South Korea is associated with a lower probability of military conflict, and that military conflict is likely to have a negative impact on trade. Trade can facilitate people-to-people exchanges between North and South Korea, which can contribute to building mutual understanding and trust. On the other hand, military conflict can increase tension and mistrust between North and South Korea, which can limit trade. We can see that there is a causal relationship between trade and military conflict that liberalism advocates. Through dialogue and cooperation between North and South Korea, we should restore mutual trust between the two countries to create a peaceful and prosperous Korean Peninsula.
