The purpose of this study is to clarify the semantic properties of auxiliary postposition ‘seo’ in modern Korean. First, I discuss the distinction between conjunctive ending ‘-goseo’ and ‘-go’. In this paper I insist that ‘-goseo’ can be analyzed into ‘-go’ and auxiliary postposition ‘seo’, and ‘seo’ means the existence of something. Therefore ‘-goseo’ and ‘-eoss-’ can't cooccur because ‘-eoss-’ implies “existence”. Second, I argue about the distinction between conjunctive ending ‘-eoseo’ and ‘-eo’. Many Korean linguists insisted that the function of ‘-eoseo’ and ‘-eo’ is same, but ‘-eoseo’ and ‘-eo’ are not interchangeable. In this paper I insist that ‘seo’ of ‘-eoseo’ means the existence of something, ‘-eoseo’ and ‘-eoss-’ can't cooccur. Last, I examine the function of ‘seo’ in conjunctive ending ‘-myeonseo’. There are two different ‘-myeonseo’, coordinate conjunctive ‘-myeonseo1’ and subordinate conjunctive ‘-myeonseo2’, I come to the conclusion that ‘-myeonseo1’ can be analyzed into ‘-myeo’, ‘n’ and ‘seo’, auxiliary postposition ‘seo’ prevent the appearence of ‘-eoss-’. In this case, ‘-myeonseo’ and ‘-eoss-’ can't cooccur, because ‘seo’ of ‘-myeonseo’ means the existence of something.
