생성형 인공지능(Generative AI)은 인간의 창작 과정을 모방하여 새로운 결과물을 산출하는 기술로 학교에서 포용성을 촉진하고 음악 수업을 폭넓게 확장하며 더 광범위한 사회적 진보를 초래할 엄청난 잠재력을 가지고 있다. 본 연구는 학교 음악교육에 생성형 AI를 활용함으로써 생기는 변화를 다각도로 탐색하였다. 최근 뮤즈넷(MuseNet), 아이바(AIVA), 수노(Suno), 사운드로우(Soundraw) 등 다양한 생성형 AI의 등장은 음악 교수·학습 방법뿐만 아니라 교육 현장의 전반적인 구조에 의미 있는 전환점을 제시하고 있다. 이러한 기술은 교사와 학생 모두에게 창작의 기회를 확대하고, 음악 교과의 창작, 표현 및 감상 방식에 새로운 가능성을 제공한다. 동시에 교사와 학습자 간의 상호작용 양식에도 변화를 촉발하고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 여러 문헌 고찰을 통해 학교 음악교육에 생성형 AI가 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 앞으로 필요한 교육적·정책적 제안을 하였다. 연구 결과, 생성형 AI는 교수·학습 방법의 변화, 학생 창의성 및 자기주도성의 확대, 교사 역할과 전문성의 변화 및 교육 기회의 다변화라는 긍정적 효과를 지니는 반면, 윤리적 쟁점과 디지털 격차 심화라는 과제 또한 동반함을 확인하였다. 이에 따라 교사 대상 전문성 개발 프로그램 강화, AI 윤리 교육의 체계적 도입, 정책적·제도적 지원 마련이 필요함을 제안한다.
Abstract
Generative AI, a technology that mimics the human creative process to produce novel outcomes, holds tremendous potential to promote inclusivity in schools, expand music instruction, and drive broader societal progress. This study explores the transformation brought about by the application of generative AI in school music education from various perspectives. The recent emergence of various generative AI technologies, such as MuseNet, AIVA, Suno, and Soundraw, represents a significant turning point not only in music teaching and learning methods but also in the overall structure of education. These technologies expand creative opportunities for both teachers and students, offering new possibilities for creating, expressing, and appreciating music. They are also prompting changes in the interaction patterns between teachers and learners. This paper analyzes the impact of generative AI on school music education through a literature review and offers educational and policy recommendations for the future. The results reveal that while generative AI has positive effects, such as transforming teaching and learning methods, enhancing student creativity and autonomy, transforming teacher roles and expertise, and diversifying educational opportunities, it also raises ethical concerns and widens the digital divide. Accordingly, we propose strengthening professional development programs for teachers, systematically introducing AI ethics education, and establishing policy and institutional support.
