본고는 과학기술이 본격적으로 적용됨으로써 교육 내용과 형식의 근본적 전환점을 맞고 있는 현시점에서, 현대시 교육의 방향성을 살펴보고, 평가의 설계와 체계화를 위한 제반 요건과 후속 논의를 제안하는 데 목적이 있다. 현대시 교육에서 ‘평가’의 문제는 풀리지 않는 오래된 과제이며, 이에 대한 논의도 지속적으로 이루어지고 있다. 본고는 현대시 교육 평가의 근본적인 문제가 평가 체계 자체보다, 현대시 교과목만의 특수성과 그에 따른 교육 목표가 충분히 규명되지 못한 상태에서 일반적인 평가 시스템이 적용되었기 때문이라고 보았다. ‘국어 사용 능력’이나 ‘문학 능력’에 준해서 현대시의 목표가 다루어질 뿐, 현대시 교육 목표의 개념 및 하위 영역에 대한 연구는 매우 미진한 편이다. 이에 본고는 현대시 교육의 특수성을 짚어보고, 2022 개정 국어과 교육과정 ‘문학’ 영역의 성취 기준 및 평가의 방향성을 분석하여 현대시 제재의 특수성이 반영된 현대시 교육 평가의 방안을 고찰하고 이를 위한 제반 요건들을 도출해 보았다.
Abstract
This study aims to examine the direction of modern poetry education and propose the requirements and subsequent discussions necessary for the design and systematization of evaluation at a time when the content and format of education are undergoing a fundamental transformation due to the application of advanced science and technology. The issue of “evaluation” in modern poetry education has long been an unresolved challenge, and discussions surrounding it have been ongoing. However, this study identifies the fundamental problem of evaluation in modern poetry education not in the evaluation system itself but in the application of a generalized evaluation framework without sufficiently clarifying the unique characteristics and educational objectives specific to modern poetry curricula. While the objectives of modern poetry education are often addressed in terms of “Korean language proficiency” or “literary competence,” research on the conceptual framework and subdomains of modern poetry education remains insufficient. Therefore, this study seeks to highlight the particularities of modern poetry education, analyze the achievement standards and evaluation direction of the “Literature” domain in the 2022 Revised Korean Language Curriculum, and derive the prerequisites for establishing a valid evaluation system for modern poetry education within the current educational evaluation framework.
