Abstract
The assumption that, in the not-so-distant future, artificial intelligence poets will surpass human poets in their abilities and pose a threat to the position of human poets is a plausible one. Many contemporary researchers and creators in the field of poetry are seriously contemplating this assumption, and they are attempting to predict how the image of the "poet" and the societal norms and systems that could be referred to as "literary research centers" or "literary communities" will change in the emerging age of artificial intelligence. These discussions can be broadly understood from the perspective of two main theories. Firstly, there are discussions rooted in the humanist perspective, which emphasize the irreplaceability of the human poet. While there may be differences in how deeply they contemplate the potential of AI poets or whether they view AI merely as a tool, they fundamentally believe that the existential uniqueness possessed by human poets cannot be replaced by new technology. In contrast, discussions based on a post-humanist approach look at the changes that AI could bring about from both the creative and institutional aspects in a positive light. What is interesting is that in both humanist and post-humanist studies, "equality" is placed at the core as a fundamental value. This highlights the theme of democratic equality as a significant topic in the discourse surrounding artificial intelligence. AI can potentially exacerbate the economic disparity between those who possess the technology and those who do not. However, by undermining the authority of the creative subject, AI can help prevent the concentration of artistic power. When considering these studies collectively, it can be concluded that both humanist and post-humanist discourses aspire to equal literary research institutions and literary communities. Therefore, it can be said that the question of whether to recognize AI as a poet should be preceded by an approach that responds to the assumption of what changes AI will bring about institutionally. What is needed in future research is a way to realize the equal rights of literary researchers and creators, regardless of the rapid changes in AI technology. Will AI-generated works or papers be acknowledged within the existing institutions, or will the institutions themselves be renewed and transition into new alternative systems based on AI technology? Many researchers' papers demand answers to these questions.
