우리말 높임법의 본질과 상대 높임법 체계

Before we describe Korean honorific category, we should make clear the true nature of it. In this paper, I grasp the true nature of Korean honorific category as merely respecting someone, because it is not necessarily depending on social status. On the basis of this viewpoint, the style of ‘하게’ can be classified into the category of holding someone in reverence formally. The style of ‘해라’ can be classified into the category of not holding someone in reverence informally together with The style of ‘해’. The difference between these two style can be found in psychological burden of the speaker.
