Abstract

To protect our cultural heritage with a big history and tradition, a nation and people should have an effort to preserve, manage and make use of it. In other words, a government needs to establish comprehensive policy and put it into effect, and a local government has to preserve and manage our cultural properties with a nation's policy and regional features. It is not the end to designate it as cultural property. What is more important is that our cultural heritage should be preserved and protected with extra care as it is. Although the local government try to designate and register our cultural heritage, the workers to take care of it are lacking compared to the number of cultural properties that is being managed. In this regard, each cultural heritage committee in cities and provinces and experts have been chosen for preservation of cultural assets. But, the supervision and management of the designated cultural heritage are not being done systematically and professionally. Therefore, the effective ways of protecting cultural heritage should be made at this moment. For this, the local government which directly supervises and administers the cultual properties needs to systematically modify an ordinance for composing the committees of supporting manpower in cities and provinces. In addition to this, if the efforts to preserve for the cultural properties are continued by a local government, systematic and specific legislations will be constituted.
