예비 초등 교사의 정체성 딜레마 -국어과 심화 학생의 교육 실습 과정을 중심으로-

이 연구는 학생에서 교사로 극적인 역할 변화를 경험하는 교육 실습 과정 동안의예비 초등 교사의 정체성 인식과 갈등 양상을 여섯 명의 초등 예비 교사의 인터뷰를통하여 분석하였다. 실습 학교 공동체에서의 위치, 교육 실습생의 역할, 교사로서의 전문성 측면에서예비 초등 교사의 정체성을 분석한 결과, 예비 초등 교사들은 외부자, 보여주는 자,회의하는 자로서의 정체성을 가지고 갈등하고 있음을 알게 되었다. 이러한 예비 초등 교사의 문제를 해결하기 위해서 연구자는 정체성 딜레마를 교사되기의 자연스러운 과정으로 받아들이게 함과 동시에, 이러한 문제를 반성적으로 성찰하는 자세가 중요하다는 것을 인식시키는 노력이 필요하다고 보았다. 또한 교육실습의 체제와 구조에 대한 개선, 실습 학교가 예비 초등 교사에게 제공하는 경험의내용과 질적 수준에 대한 검토, 예비 초등 교사의 교과 내용 지식과 수업 실천 지식을강화하도록 교육대학의 교육과정과 교과 교육학의 교육과정 개선 등과 같은 조치가함께 이루어져야 한다고 제언하였다.
Abstract
Using the interviews with six primary school student teacher, the present study analyzed the identity consciousnesses and conflicts they had during the practice teaching course in which each of them experienced a dramatic role change from a student to a teacher. Each primary school student teacher identified himself/herself with an outsider, a displayer and a skeptic in terms of position in a school community,role as an education intern and professionalism as a teacher. To solve such problems, it is necessary to make efforts for letting the primary school student teacher know the importance of regarding identity dilemma as a natural process of being a teacher and of reflecting on the dilemma. Also, it is required to improve the system and structure of practice courses at teachers’ colleges, to review the experiences and qualitative levels the schools provide to the student teacher and to improve the courses at teachers’ colleges in order to strengthen subject content knowledge and teaching practice knowledge.
