교사의 언어 사용은 수업의 질을 결정하는 중요한 요소이며, 학습자의 쓰기 능력을 효과적으로 발달시키기 위해서는 쓰기교육에 적절한 교수언어 개발이 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 쓰기교육의 특성에 맞는 교수언어 개발을 위해 ‘교과 장르’라는 개념을 도입하고, ‘목표 지향적이고 단계화된 사회적 과정’으로서 교수언어가 나타나는 양상을 고찰하였다. 교수언어를 교과 장르로서 고찰할 경우, 수업에 드러나는 보편적인 수업 구조와 특수한 교과내용을 연결시키고 조화시키는 매개체의 역할을 밝힐 수 있으며, 수업에서 사고 이양을 위한 기호적 도구로서의 언어를 정교화시킨다.쓰기 수업이라는 문화 맥락 안에서 쓰기 교수언어는 수업의 특성이 초점화되는 교수 사용역과, 쓰기 행위가 초점화되는 내용 사용역이 상호교섭하게 된다. 같은 수업이라도 교사가 언어를 사용할 때, 사용역의 구성요소인 내용주체방식 면에서 어떤 의미적 선택을 하느냐에 따라, 학습자는 매우 다른 학습 경험을 하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 일반적인 쓰기 수업에서 교수언어를 관찰하여 각각의 의미적 선택들이 지니는 의미를 고찰하고, 쓰기 교수언어가 보다 발전적인 방향으로 나가기 위해 보완해야 할 점으로 내용 사용역의 적극적인 강조, 구어/문어 매개체로서의 특성화, 체계적인 단계화 세 가지를 제시하였다.
Abstract
The teaching language is critical element to decide instruction's quality. If we want to develop learner's writing ability effectively, it is necessary to explore writing's teaching language. I used specific concept, curriculum genre to develop teaching language fit in writing education. It is social process that is both staged and purposive. The writing's teaching language is constructed as curriculum genre from the writing instruction, context of culture. Of the two registers that realise a curriculum genre, a pedagogical register has the function of generation and sustaining educational activity. And the content register realises the knowledge, strategy and activity about writing. And there are three elements in a register : field, tenor, mode. According as the teachers make a different choice about field, tenor, mode, the learners become to experience very different learning. I collected teaching language's data in the writing instruction and investigated the meaning of each choices. So I descripted the focus and effect of meaningful choice ; field, tenor, mode. It is different which register - pedagogical register, content register - is foregrounded. As a result, I presented three complements to make better writing's teaching language ; first, active foregrounding of content register, second, characterizing as spoken/written language's medium, third, systematic staging.
