임윤지당의 『논어(論語)』 이해에 대한 여성철학적 성찰

Abstract

This thesis observes the aspect of the Analects being cited and comprehended in the collection of works of Yim Younjidang in the late Chosun Dynasty, particularly from a feminist epistemological perspective. By analyzing how female neo-Confucian scholars, Younjidang have cited and interpreted Analects, the author seeks to contemplate on the content, characteristics, and meaning of knowledge constructed by females in the Chosun dynasty. To effectively discuss these, this thesis particularly focuses on the Analects and how it was referenced in YunjidangYugo(允摯堂遺稿). Especially in YunjidangYugo’s Chapters <KeJiFuLiWeiRenShuo(克己復禮爲仁說)>, <Yiyiguanzhi(一以貫之)>, <Wei-shang KaoQiXi(微生高乞醯)> the thesis analyzes the characteristics of the context in which the Analects is cited and comprehended in Yunjidang's collection of works. Through these discussions, this thesis can look into how Yunjidang internalized the Analects and produced her own knowledge, and how this is different from the way in which male scholars comprehended the Analects. Furthermore, by newly recognizing female scholars and their capacities, which did not receive much attention in the Chosun Confucian history, this thesis reconstructs the content of Confucianism through women's perspectives.
