삼국유사 이래 다양한 문헌에 전승되어 오던 단군 이야기는 근대계몽기 역사교과서를 통해 재구성된다 . 1895년부터 발행되기 시작한 초기 역사교과서의 단군 이야기는 1905~06 년 무렵을 기점으로 인식론적 전환을 보인다 . 인이었고, 그런 점에서 조선조 유가들의 단군 인식의 지속을 보여주었지만 1906년 이후의 역사교과서는 이전의 인식과 뚜렷한 단절을 드러낸다 . 단군은 인간인 환인과 환웅의 핏줄을 이은 인간 －왕이라는 인식이 그것이다 . , 근대계몽기의 인식론에 따른 탈신화화를 보여준다 . 그런데 제국주의의 위협 속에서 탈신성화된 단군은 다른 방식으로 다시 호명된다 . 단군은 문명과 독립이라는 계몽의 이념에 조응하여 문명과 독립을 조선 인민들에게 선물한 , ‘ ’와 유사한 이미지를 부여받는다 . 단군을 계몽의 표상으로 만들고 그것을 교육의 장에서 내면화하는 과정에서 인간 －왕 단군은 다시 신화화된다. 나아가 식민지화라는 민족의 위기 속에서 단군은 문명과 독립의 표상을 넘어 , 아니 .
Abstract
Demythologization and Remythologization of the Dangun Mythologyin the Modern Enlightenment Period; Cho, Hyun-SoulThe story of Dangun(檀君) being handed down by diverse literatures since SAMGUKYUSA(三國遺事) is reconstructed through the textbook of the modern enlightenment period. Dangun in the beginning of history textbook that began to be p u b l i s h e d f r o m 1 8 9 5 w a s d e m i g o d (神人). But Dangun in history textbok after 1906 becomes ‘human being-king’ linked to human Hwanin(桓因) and Hwanung(桓雄) by blood. It shows a demythologized cognition against Dangun, that is the demythologization based on enlightening cognition.By the way, the demigod Dangun demythologized through the threat of imperialism was given a diferent meaning. Acording to enlightening ideology―civilization and independence, Dangun was given a similar image to the enlightenment monarch who gave Choson people civilization and independence. In adition, Dangun in the national cris just like colonialization was born again as the divinity of a national religion. Dangun was god, but by coming down as human body became a king founded Ancient Choson and remythologized as a divine origin of anti-Japanese independence movement at same time.
