프로문인의 환상과 ‘소부르주아적 감상’: 프롤레타리아 주체화의 내부적 외부

이 글은 프로문인들이 어떤 환상적 문법에 의해 지각과 욕망을 구조화하고 있었는지를 조명함으로써, 문학으로 프롤레타리아 운동에 참여하고자 했던 주체의 고유성과 윤리적 가능성을 이해하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 프로문학에 있어 ‘소부르주아적 감상’이란 프롤레타리아의 감정과 감성을 표현하려 하였으나 문인 자신의 파토스가 표출되어 버렸다는 ‘실패’ 판정을 의미했다. 이 점에서 프로문학의 ‘감상’은 프로문인의 기획이 실패하는 국면이면서 또한 ‘프로문인’ 주체 특유의 입장이자 증상과 결부되어 있다. 프로문인이 타자의 고통이라는 실재에 대해 자신을 방어하는 환상적 스크린을 세우거나, 취약하고 위태로운 타자와의 관계를 떠난 ‘대의’에 몰입하여 귀속되는 위험을 피할 수 있는 조건은, 프롤레타리아의 삶에 대한 프롤레타리아 자신의 욕망을 욕망하며 프롤레타리아의 내부적 외부라는 모순적 위치에 스스로 자리하는 것이었다. 그러한 모순적 비-위치에서 이루어진 담론적 실천의 이름이 ‘프로문학’이었다고 할 수 있다.
Abstract
This paper explains the grammar of phantasy by which the proletarian writers structuralized their perception and desire, and aims to clarify the uniqueness and the ethical possibility of the subject that sought to participate in the proletarian movement by means of literature. The label ‘petty-bourgeois sentiment’ in proletarian literature signifies a judgment that the text ended up exposing the writer’s own pathos where it should have expressed proletarian emotion and sensitivity. In that way, the ‘sentiment’ in proletarian literature is the moment of failure for the proletarian writer’s project and is connected to the position and symptom peculiar to the subjectivity of ‘proletarian writer.’ The condition for the proletarian writers to avoid pitfalls of screening off the Real of other’s pain or immersing themselves to a Cause disjoined from relation with vulnerable and precarious other was to locate themselves at the paradoxical position of internal externality of proletariat, desiring the proletariat’s desire to live. It is the name for the discursive practice made in the non-place that is the ‘Proletarian Literature’.
