Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore the use of actor-network theory for sports, which aims for a flat relational ontology between humans and non-humans. Along with the philosophical foundation of the actor-network theory, how it defines and connects different actors was introduced. In addition, we discovered the existence of the actor-network theory in various sports such as athletics, baseball, gymnastics, and hiking, and translated it by linking empirical examples of how it emerges as a multiple reality that is assembled and reassembled with actors. The perspective of the actor-network theory in sports and the entanglement process of different substances were translated into examples of the PyeongChang Olympic Memorial and ecological sports. There is no difference in behavior between human and non-human behavioral abilities, except in direction and role. Focusing on the ontological characteristics and conditions of substances in functional aspects such as physical activity and intelligence, we explored the contents necessary to use the behavior of non-human beings differentiated in modern humanism as a research method for sports phenomena.
