기고문을 통해 본 동요 교육자 정순철

정순철은 1920년대 방정환, 윤극영, 박태준, 홍난파 등과 함께 우리나라 근대기 동요 황금기를 열었던 동요작곡가이다. 최근 그에 대한 새로운 작품과 자료 발굴들이 진행되면서 그의 위상을 새로이 하려는 연구들이 진행되고 있다. 본 연구는 정순철의 새로 발굴된 기고글들을 소개하고 그의 기고글들을 통해 근대 동요작곡가로서 뿐 아닌 동요 이론 전문가이자 음악교육 실습가로서의 그의 면면을 살펴보고자 한다. 새로 발굴된 기고글의 소개와 함께 동요 전문가로서의 정순철 위상 정립을 새로이 하는 데 도움이 되길 바라며, 이 후 그의 작품들에 대한 후속 연구가 지속될 수 있길 바란다.
Abstract
Jung Soon-cheol is a Dong-Yo(Children’s Song) composer who, along with Bang Jung-hwan, Yoon Kuk-young, Park Tae-joon, and Hong Nan-pa in the 1920s, opened the golden age of Korean songs for Children(Dong-Yo, 동요) in the modern era. In recent years, new works and materials have been unearthed about him, and studies are being conducted to renew his status. This study introduces the newly found contributions of Jung Soon-cheol and examines his contributions not only as a modern Dong-Yo composer but also as a theory expert and music education practitioner on Dong-Yo. I hope that the introduction of the newly unearthed articles will help to re-establish his position as an expert as a composer for children songs, and that subsequent research on his works will continue.
