필자는 소통가능성을 위한 예비적 고찰로서 소통불가능성에 관한 원인을 시 민적 덕성의 결핍이나 부족에서 찾는 것이 아니라 소통이 이루어지는 물리적 공간인 정치공동체의 지형에서 찾는다. 소통불가능성에 관한 이러한 필자의 입 장은 기본적으로 시민적 덕성을 자연적 도덕감으로 규정하는데 기인한다. 연대 감으로서의 시민적 덕성은 공동체 구성원이라면 누구나 직접적이면서 즉각적으 로 느낄 수 있고 실천할 수 있는 정도로 자명하게 주어진 자연적 도덕감으로 기술된다. 본고는 이를 위해서 크게 두 부분으로 구성되어져 있다. 첫 번째, 자연적 도 덕감으로서의 시민적 덕성이다. 시민적 덕성이 신체적 차원에서 일어나는 즉각 적이고 직접적인 자연적 도덕감임을 제시한다. 두 번째, 시민적 덕성이 발휘되 는 물리적 공간으로서의 정치공동체 지형에 대해서 고찰한다. 첫째, 화폐와 권 력에 의한 공적 영역의 소멸에 관해서 고찰한다. 둘째, 가치다원주의에 관한 발생론적 맥락을 분석한다. 정치공동체는 정치적 입장의 층위에서 중심과 주변 의 적대적 관계로 특징화된다.
Abstract
This article seeks the cause of incommensurablity at the terrain of political community structural obstacle, not at civic virtue. This understanding for incommensurablity has the cause from the stipulation civic virtue as natural moral sense. Civic virtue as natural moral sense is basic propensity which citizens all have. The exhibition of civic virtue as natural moral sense is related not with the density of civic virtue but with the space which civic virtue exhibits. For this, first, this article proposes civic virtue as natural moral sense. The article suggests that civic virtue is the natural moral sense on the basis of Merleau-Ponty’s flesh. Second, this article analyzes two structural obstacles for civic virtue’s exhibition. First structural obstacle as external obstacle is the extinction of public sphere caused by the growth of market and the expansion of bureaucracy. Second structural obstacle as internal obstacle is suggested through analyzing pluralism on the basis of existential philosophy. The result of the analysis is the ‘antagonism’ between the hegemonical value and the peripheral value.
